Author and wellness expert Deepak Chopra and serial entrepreneur Poonacha Machaiah have launched a new well-being platform called Jiyo in partnership with Apollo Life, a health and wellness services arm of Apollo Hospitals Group.
The Apollo Life partnership in India will enable Jiyo to bring well-being services to nearly 1.5 million users, according to the company.
"Our health is our true wealth and this is not a mere adage. Good health is a priceless gift; it demands our attention because it is all in our hands. The partnership with Jiyo is a much needed catalyst to address the huge healthcare challenge our society faces today with chronic disease and lifestyle disorders," said Pratap C Reddy, chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group.
Jiyo aims to take a 360-degree approach to well-being, offering curated video content and insights from leading global experts including Mark Hyman, Kimberly Snyder, Eddie Stern and Tara Stiles. Well-being communities are also a key feature of the platform and users will be able to access such communities by subscription.
"The goal of Jiyo is to impact a billion lives around the world by enabling them to experience a joyful energetic body, a loving compassionate heart, a restful alert mind and lightness of being," says Deepak Chopra.
This digital platform utilises cutting-edge intuitive technology to analyse users' behavior and makes recommendations based on their habits to nudge them on their path of well-being, according to a statement. Jiyo has also curated some leading wearable devices and apps for the users.
"Jiyo aims to democratise well-being by leveraging mobile technology, devices/sensors, curated content/services and prescriptive analytics to provide the consumer with contextual services that will enable them to make positive lifestyle changes," said Pooncha Machaiah.
Jiyo has also partnered with MINDBODY, a provider of business management software to the wellness services industry and the creator of the MINDBODY consumer app.
