Apollo Hospitals Group on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the BMJ group, a medical publishing company and media arm of British Medical Association.
Under the agreement, Apollo will have access to all the BMJ knowledge base, including journals and website, and provide it to Indian doctors through mobile and electronic devices, including computerised web access and patient leaflets.
Micheal Chamberlain, chairman, BMJ group, said, “The MoU will help doctors in updating with the latest innovations and public health information.”
“The content will be Indianised through our expert panel,” Sangeetha Reddy, executive director of the group, said.
Apollo had recently tied up with Aircel to provide mobile health application and is in talks with various mobile service providers to reach its target audience.
Prathap C Reddy, chairman, Apollo Hospitals, said the group would invest around Rs 500 crore in a 475-bed hospital at Navi Mumbai and was planning multiple projects in Maharashtra. It would add 150 super speciality beds at its existing hospital at Lavasa.
“We are working on two projects in Maharashtra at Nashik and Pune. The hospital at Navi Mumbai is set to be completed in 30 months and the construction work will start in a couple of weeks,” he said.
