Energy transmission and distribution firm Areva T&D India today said it has bagged two projects worth Rs 110 crore from Delhi Transco for installing gas insulated substations (GIS) in the national capital.
"The combined approximate value of the orders is around Rs 110 crore and both are scheduled for completion by the end of 2010," Areva said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Both turnkey orders include design, engineering, testing, manufacturing and commissioning of 220/33 kV GIS Substation packages, the company said.
Delhi Transco Ltd is the state transmission utility for the national capital territory of Delhi.
"The DTL orders are significant landmark in strengthening the power backbone of Delhi for the forthcoming Commonwealth Games," Areva T&D India Country President and MD Rathin Basu said.
Shares of Areva T&D India surged over four per cent and were quoting at Rs 281.65 in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
