Areva T&D India today said it has bagged an order worth Rs 120 crore related to an upcoming super thermal power plant in Chattisgarh.
The electrical balance of plant order has been awarded by L&T Power for Visa Power. L&T Power is the BoP contractor for Visa.
"The contract worth approximately Rs 120 crore is for supply and installation of electrical balance of plant solutions for the upcoming 2x660 MW super thermal power plants at Raigarh, Chattisgarh," Areva said in a regulatory filing.
Areva would manufacture and install a 400 kV air-insulated substation with civil works, along with power plant distribution systems such as medium voltage switchgears, service and distribution transformers, cables and bus ducts.
Visa Power's plant is scheduled to be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2013.
"This new contract reflects the leadership and confidence that Areva T&D India's electrical balance of plant solutions command in the industry and power segments," Areva T&D India's Managing Director Rathin Basu said.
Alstom and Schneider Electric had assumed operational control of Areva T&D India last year.
