| Godfrey Philips net up 97% to Rs 23.44 cr |
| Godfrey Phillips, the country's second largest cigarette manufacturer, has reported sharp increase in net profit of 97.14 per cent during the second quarter of this financial year. Net sales was at Rs 169.29 crore, while net profit during this period was at Rs 23.44 crore. |
| The near doubling of net profit is over a marginal increase of 3.5 per cent in turnover, enabled mostly by the reversal of post-tax provisons made in earlier years for exceptoinal expenditure, that have now been reversed. |
