Ashok Leyland reported 6.5 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 133.4 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 as compared with Rs 142.7 crore for the same period last year. |
The fall in net profit was owing to the payments of deferred taxes to the tune of Rs 55.1 crore. Profit before tax increased 9.6 per cent to Rs 184.7 crore for the fourth quarter in 2005-06 compared with Rs 168.4 crore for the same period in the previous year. |

The company's total turnover registered 19.3 per cent growth at Rs 2,003.3 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 compared with the Rs 1,677.9 crore corresponding period the previous year. |
