The new offering, which is similar to Nissan's multi utility vehicle Evalia, targets commercial users who would like to use the passenger cars as ambulances, taxis or courier vans.

"The collaboration has accelerated Ashok Leyland (ALL) sales and increased Nissan's economies-of-scale while providing customers unique products specifically tailored to Indian preferences. Our partnership with ALL is an obvious win-win-win for both companies and the consumer," said Carlos Ghosn, CEO, Nissan-Renault Alliance.
"Going forward too, the two companies plan to launch a range of products in the LCV segment under both Ashok Leyland and Nissan. Though they might play in the same segment, the products will be targeting different customers, will have differentiated features and will be in different price points," said Ghosn.
With Stile also in our portfolio, we're now better positioned to cater to a wider range of needs, and at the same time, address the growing expectations of the Indian consumer, said Sumantran, vice chairman, Ashok Leyland.
Speaking at the function, G P Hinduja, co-chairman, Hinduja group said the cost-cutting measures would result in good returns in the years ahead.
"Last year the whole industry fell by 25 per cent. This year, in the first quarter, we're seeing a decline of 12 per cent already," he added.
