Ashok Leyland Q3 net up six-fold, at Rs 199 crore

Commercial vehicle major Ashok Leyland has clocked Rs 198.62 crore profit during the quarter ended December 31, 2015 as compared to Rs 32.09 crore, a year ago.

Total income of the company rose to Rs 4,085.34 crore from Rs 3,361, a year ago.

Vinod K Dasari, managing director, Ashok Leyland said "with yet another successful quarter performance, Ashok Leyland is well on the path of sustained profitablity".

He added, continued focus on R&D, new product development, network expansion, continued focus on costs and expansion into new international markets, along with positive domestic growth portends well for the future.

According to Dasari, its new ICV, MDV and bus products unveiled at the recent Auto Expo will provide further fillip to growth.
