Ashok Leyland sales grow 36% in January to 10,639 units

M&HCV sales increased 45% on annual basis

Commercial vehicle major Ashok Leyland posted an increase of 35.6 per cent in total sales during January 2015, at 10,639 units, as compared to 7,847 units during the same month of last year.

The sales of Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCV) grew by 44.8 per cent, to 8,005 units during the month this year, compared to 5,530 units during January, 2014. The sales of Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) grew by 13.7 per cent, at 2,634 units during January, 2015, as against 2,317 units in the corresponding month of last year.

During the ten months from April 2014 to January 2015, the company has posted an increase of 14.4 per cent in total sales, at 81,382 units compared to 71,141 units during the corresponding period of previous year. The sales of M&HCV grew by 26.2 per cent at 59,399 units during the period compared to 47,048 units sold in April 2013 to January 2014. However, sales of the LCV experienced a drop of 8.8 per cent at 21,983 units as compared to 24,093 units during the same period of previous year.
