Luxury car maker Middle East Aston Martin is currently undertaking a series of feasibility studies to enter the Indian automobile industry.

According to Thomas Kastgen, CEO, Middle East Aston Martin, "Aston Martin, like India, is going through an exciting and marked growth period.

For the first time ever, we will be producing up to 5,000 vehicles a year - a massive growth over the past ten years - and it's the right time to study and look at potential new markets."

Kastgen, who was in New Delhi to host a private session with fellow businessmen from the automotive sector, added: "India is currently witnessing a year-on-year growth in the luxury automotive sector. It's important for us not to miss out on this important market.

Hosting an interactive forum on "Luxury Automobile Trading in India", Kastgen admitted that research had been ongoing for some months with a final decision on market entry to be made by the year end.

"Major investment decisions such as these cannot be made in a rush. I will reveal however, that Delhi and Mumbai, would be our first priorities for dedicated Aston Martin facilities."

Middle East Aston Martin, which covers the GCC, Egypt, Syria and Jordan, has made significant moves into the luxury market since its Middle East opening in 2002.
