Astral to set up pump-making unit in Coimbatore

Announcing the launch of its Chennai operations, Astral India said it plans to set up a pump manufacturing unit in Coimbatore before the end of this year.

Astral India is a division of Spain-based AstraPool International, provider of end-to-end solutions to swimming pool infrastructure.

By launching Chennai operations, Astral India would play a significant part in harnessing the business potential in the Asia Pacific region, a company statement said.

Chennai, being the port city, offers the unique advantage for export of the company's manufactured products without any hitch. It has excellent infrastructure and industrial climate that would accentuate growth, Abe Abraham, chief executive officer, Astral India, said.

Distribution channel as well as logistics for the exports would be controlled from the city. It is also planning to launch its operations in Kolkata during this quarter.
