French multinational Atos Societas Europaea (Atos SE), which inaugurated its new facility in Vadodara on Wednesday, plans to recruit 700 to 1,000 employees over the next 12 months, a senior company official said.

"As part of phase-I recruitment for the new facility in Vadodara, Atos has already hired 300 IT professionals, who are getting inducted in batches. The company plans to recruit another 700-1,000 employees over the next 12 months to manage the operations. In the overall exercise, focus would be to hire local talent," said, Peter Pluim, senior vice-president and COO, global operations – Atos Managed Services, Atos Group.

Pluim stated that the reason behind selecting Vadodara as the second establishment of Atos after Pune was the quality of education system and accessibility to wide range of talent.

On India market, Milind Kamat, executive vice-president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Atos said, “Our focus is to establish India as one of the key global delivery centres for the Atos Group and its clients worldwide. We are working on growing India market. Currently, 25 per cent of our revenue is from the local market.”

Kamat said, “Good infrastructure, well renowned education center, rich talent pool and close proximity to key economic centres like Mumbai and Delhi attract us to Vadodara. It offers a good ecosystem for an emerging destination for IT-BPM sector.”
