Aurobindo Pharma Limited chief executive officer (Formulations) Arvind Vasudeva has resigned yesterday after serving the company for a little less than three years. He is an industry veteran with around 25 years of experience in various Indian pharma companies in different leadership roles.

"Arvind Vasudeva has resigned from the services of the company to pursue his professional interests," the company informed the stock exchanges on Wednesday.

According to a senior Auroinbo official, Vasudeva is planning to pursue teaching profession as he is an authorised coach to train the CEOs. "He was also inclined to reduce physical stress mostly arising out of his frequent travel schedules across Europe and other countries," a senior director of the company told Business Standard, while adding that a replacement would be announced by the company very soon.

Vasudeva was not immediately available for comments about his decision.

Prior to joining Aurobindo in November, 2012, Arvind Vasudeva worked as chief operating officer at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited from May 2010 to January 2012. He was managing director of RPG Life Sciences between 2010-2012 and before that he worked with a host of other companies including Dr Reddy's and Wockhardt Limited.
