Mumbaikars heaved a sigh of relief after about 253 auto fuel dealers called off their strike that was supposed to begin tomorrow. Petrol Dealers Association had given a call to shut down all outlets to protest against the state government’s inaction to address their issues arising out of the implementation of Maharashtra Rental Control Act, 1999.
Dealers were agitated that due to the implementation of the act. Nearly 16 outlets in Mumbai have already been closed down and more are on its way due to the change in the definition premises in sec. 7(a) of the Rent Act.
However, Ravi Shinde, president of the association said, “The strike has been called off after the state government has assured to look into the issues raised by us.”
