Aventis Pharma, a unit of France's Sanofi, posted a 17.22% rise in its net profit at Rs 49.7 crore on net sales of Rs 325 crore for the first quarter ended June 30.
It had a net profit of Rs 42.4 crore for the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal, the company said in a statement.
The company's other income stood Rs 14 crore, the statement said.
The Mumbai-based drugmaker's domestic revenue rose 12.1% to Rs 244 crore during the quarter while exports rose 9.3% to Rs 59.9 crore, it said.
