Avinash Vashistha, a co-founder of neoIT, the outsourcing advisory firm, who later founded Tholons with a similar focus, is understood to be joining Accenture India as chairman and managing director.

A veteran in the outsourcing industry, Vashistha will work until August with the incumbent chairman and MD, Harsh Manglik, when the latter retires.

It is understood that Vashistha will also continue to be on the Board of his previous venture, Tholons, as the chairman, for which he has got permission from Accenture. A company spokesperson could not be reached to get confirmation on Vashistha’s appointment. However, it is reliably learnt that Accenture is planning to make an announcement tomorrow. Tholons has posted an announcement that Vashistha was passing the baton at Tholons to a new leadership.

Vashistha, who holds an engineering degree from IIT Kanpur, and a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Alberta, has over 20 years of experience in various aspects of business leadership, globalisation, and equity management.

He co-authored ‘The Offshore Nation’, a book with insights on leveraging the best practices in the offshoring lifecycle of information technology and business processes.
