B Ashok takes charge as new Chairman of Indian Oil

Was earlier associated with the Marketing and Business Development divisions of the company

India's largest company by turnover, petroleum explorer Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has appointed Executive Director of Retail Sales B Ashokas its new Chairman.

A Mechanical Engineer from Madras University, Ashok has over 33 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry. He has earlier been associated with the Marketing and Business Development divisions of the company. Ashok has also headed the overseas business of Indian Oil in South-East Asia while posted at Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia apart from being on the board of Sri Lanka subsidiary Lanka IOC.

A post-graduate in Management from the Management Development Institute (MDI), Ashok helped turnaround Lanka IOC into a profitable venture and declaring a maiden dividend to its shareholders, the company said in a release.
