Bajaj Auto today said its net profit for the second quarter ended September 30 stood at Rs 184.91 cr, a 22.50% decline over the corresponding period a year ago.
The firm had a net profit of Rs 238.60 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, Bajaj Auto said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The total income rose 7.90% to Rs 2,548.43 crore for the quarter under review, from Rs 2,361.82 crore in the same period last fiscal.
During the September quarter the company sold 6.48 lakh units, against 6.14 units in the year-ago period.
For the six months ended September 30, Bajaj Auto reported a profit of Rs 360.02 cr, a 14.61% fall over the year-ago period. The firm had a net profit of Rs 421.60 cr in the first half of last fiscal.
In the first six months the company's total income rose to Rs 4,859.19 crore, from Rs 4,470.47 crore in the same period last fiscal.
Shares of Bajaj Auto were trading at Rs 530, down two per cent in the late afternoon trade on the BSE.
