Bajaj firm set to light up Etawah cricket stadium

The Special Projects Team of Bajaj Electricals Ltd (BEL) is about to finish its flood light project of the International Cricket Stadium at Safai, Etawah, in Uttar Pradesh.

The order of Rs 6.73 crore is expected to be completed by the end of this month.

Talking to Business Standard, Branch Sales Manager R C Srivastav said, "The project involves high mast towers, metal halide flood lights, associated control and mimic panels and power and control cabling."

With about 172 authorised dealers in the state, UP has a share of 4-5 per cent of the total electrical business of the group.

"Currently we have a market of about Rs 50 crore in the state, expected to increase to Rs 70 crore by the end of March," Srivastav said.

BEL is also looking at opportunities for acquisitions, be it with brands or companies."We are ready to invest in financially weak companies which have a good management backing and product quality to rely upon," said Shekhar Bajaj-Chairman and Managing Director (BEL).

The company is also planning to launch its new product, invertors, which is expected to hit the market in next six months. The Uttar Pradesh region is looked under two regional offices of Lucknow and Noida.
