The board of Bajaj Hindusthan today approved proposals for expanding its sugar manufacturing capacity and increasing power generation capacity with a total investment of Rs 440 crore.According to a release issued by Bajaj Hindusthan to the BSE todat, the company is planning to increase its sugar manufacturing capacity from 95,000 tonne crushed per day (TCD) (including three projects of 27000 TCD under implementation) to 100,000 TCD.The company plans to set-up one new greenfield plant with cane crushing capacity of 5,000 TCD, which is expandable to 7,000 TCD, along with 10 MW co-generation plant at an estimated project cost of Rs 200 crore.The board also approved a proposal to up power generation capacity from 151 MW (including a planned capacity of 45 MW as three new projects under implementation) to 270 MW.
