"Bajaj-KTM will launch two variants of the RC brand of 'faired' racing bikes in the calendar year 2014 under the sub-500 cc category," said Amit Nandi, Vice-President of Bajaj Probiking.
Faired racing bikes, as opposed to nude ones, have engines covered for better aerodynamics at high speed.

Nandi said that the company sold around 8,000 units of KTM bikes in the last financial year in India.
He said that around 25,000 units were exported to Europe, Latin America and South East Asia. "The small displacement KTM bikes were being manufactured at Pune plant and sold globally."
Nandi said racing bikes were the fastest growing segment in the two-wheeler space.
He said the company was looking at 10% growth in the racing category in the current fiscal.
The company today launched the KTM 390 Duke bike in the metropolis.
Bajaj Auto holds 48% stake in KTM of Austria.
