The country's second largest two-wheeler maker Bajaj today reported 4.09 per cent increase in its motorcycle sales at 1,82,441 units in August.
The company had sold 1,75,274 units in August last year, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) said in a statement.
Total two-wheeler sales during the month also increased by 3.63 per cent to 1,83,051 units compared with 1,76,631 units in the same period a year ago, it added.
BAL's exports went up by 5.71 per cent to 75,164 units in August from 71,105 units a year ago.
Total vehicle sales of the company last month stood at 2,13,072 units compared to 2,00,955 units in the same period a year ago, the statement said.
"Commercial vehicle sales and exports are on plan... exports for the month were the highest ever," it added.
The company sold about 48,000 units of its new 100cc Discover DTS-Si in August.
