Country's second largest two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto today reported a five per cent rise in its motorcycle sales in August at 1,75,274 units against 1,67,483 units in the same month last year.
Total two-wheeler sales during the month was up by four per cent at 1,76,631 units, as against 1,70,203 units in the month under review last year, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) said in a statement.
BAL said its three-wheeler sales during the month stood at 24,324 units as against 25,504 in the Corresponding month last year, down five per cent.
Exports of two and three wheelers during the month went up by three per cent at 2,00,955 units as against 1,95,707 in the same month last year, it added.
The company said it would start production of electric start variant of its 125 cc bike Platina, in keeping with its focus on the 125 cc and above segment.
