"We have not reached any conclusion on that," Bajaj Auto Limited's Managing Director, Rajiv Bajaj, told reporters here today.
Bajaj said the company was open to alliances for light trucks but added that it had the option to manufacture them on its own as well.
Bajaj has formed a joint venture with Renault SA of France and its Japan-based affiliate, Nissan Motor Co, to manufacture a low-budget car in the country.
Despite having an alliance for the car with Renault, Bajaj said if the foreign major did not want to partner with his company for commercial vehicles, then he had the option of going it alone (for commercial vehicles).
"The car deal with Renault does not preclude us from doing a deal with some one else for commercial vehicles. But from our side, if we do partner with somebody, it will be Renault," Bajaj said.
