Promoters of Balaji Telefilms are planning to set up a television training school in Pune. The project is likely to be functional by mid-2007.

"We have come up with this idea to fulfil the demand of trained talent in the television space. Those trained at the school will work with us. Thus the school will ensure regular flow of trained television professionals," said Shobha Kapoor, managing director and CEO, Balaji Telefilms.

The school will train students in production, direction, editing and acting. The school will run a two-year course and a short six-month course. Students will have to sign a bond that they would work with Balaji Telefilms for a certain period after finishing the course.

At present, Balaji Telefilms soaps runs seven soaps on Star Plus, one show on Zee TV and two shows on Sony. The production house also has seven shows for southern market.
