Bank of India Q3 profit up 12% at Rs 803 cr

Total income of the bank increases to Rs 8,960 cr

State-owned Bank of India (BoI) today reported a 12.2% increase in net profit at Rs 803.48 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2012.

The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 716.15 crore for the same quarter of last fiscal.

Total income of the bank increased to Rs 8,959.83 crore during the October-December quarter from Rs 8,002.27 crore in the year-ago period, BoI said in a BSE filing.

For the first nine months of FY2012-13 ended December, 2012, the bank has clocked 15.54% rise in net profit, to Rs 1,992.76 crore, from Rs 1,724.79 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal.

The bank reported a total income of Rs 26,409.41 crore in the first three quarters (April-December) against Rs 23,024.11 crore in the same period last financial year.

Shares of the bank were trading higher by 0.27% at Rs 365.40 in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
