Sources in the industry has pegged investments to the tune of Rs 2,500 crore involving four projects.
Chinese bus maker Zhongtong Bus Holding Company, in a joint venture project with West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation, is set to start manufacturing buses in the coming five years. This project will entail an investment of Rs 1,500 crore.

An exclusive colony for DVC employees has also been planned which will attract an investment of Rs. 250 crore.
Also, the Shapoorji Pallonji Group is also designing a residential project for the financially weaker sections of the society at an estimated investment of Rs 750 crore.
"Our initiatives in the fields of transport, industry, housing, infrastructural development and MSME development announced here is just the beginning. Many more developments are there in the pipeline", managing director of BAPL Partha Ghosh said during the Bengal Global Business Summit here.
BAPL has also concluded a technical landing agreement with Bhutan based Druk Air.
Air India has recently upgraded its 40-seater ATR carrier to a 122-seater Airbus and extended the Kolkata-Durgapur route to touch New Delhi.
