Barclays enhances mobile banking service

Barclays Global Retail and Commercial Bank (GRCB) has enhanced its mobile banking service — Hello Money, with national electronic funds transfer facility.        

This will enable customers to transfer funds to other bank accounts from their Barclays account through mobile phones free of charge, a press release said here today.        

Funds will be transferred to the beneficiary's bank using Reserve Bank's Payment Interface (PI).        

"With growing innovations in the technology space, customers can now do almost any transaction from either their mobile phones or through the internet," GRCB's India Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, Ram Gopal said.        

Customers can dial 5981# to access this facility and can work within a daily transfer limit of Rs 5,000, it said.        

GRCB operates in more than 50 countries and employs more than 120,000 people.
