Barista in talks with Reliance for opening outlets at A1 plaza

Italian Coffee Chain Barista Coffee company is in talks with Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries for opening its outlets at RIL's A1 food plazas at key locations in the country to tap the growing potential of coffee business at national highways.    

Besides, the company is also holding negotiations with Fortis Hospitals for opening its outlets at its properties as part of its efforts to augment its business in the country.     

"We see a lot of potential at national highways for deriving growth for our business ... In this direction we are in talks with Reliance Industries for setting up our outlets at their (A1) food plaza which are set up along side their petrol pumps on revenue sharing basis... And we hope we will start operations within this year," Barista COO Sanjay Coutinho told reporters here today.     

Barista has already signed MoU with other oil marketing companies like BPCL and HPCL for opening stores alongside their petrol pump properties.     

The company is also looking at hospital and banking sectors in an aggressive manner to boost its business volume in the country. "We are holding talks with Fortis hospitals for opening Espresso Bars at their premises. In addition to it, we are also talking to a private sector bank for opening our bars," he said.
