BASF sets up R&D unit
Set up at an investment of $2 million(Rs 13 crore), the R&D facility will focus on organic synthesis, advanced process and formulation research
BS Reporter Mumbai Stepping efforts to move 50% of its research outside Europe by 2020, Germany based BASF SE today inaugurated a research and development (R&D) centre in Thane, near Mumbai. Set up at an investment of $2 million(Rs 13 crore), the R&D facility will focus on organic synthesis, advanced process and formulation research, discovery chemistry for modern agricultural solutions, and molecular modelling.
The new R&D facilities will accommodate more than 60 scientists in the first phase. BASF recently established an Agronomical Research and Development Field Station in Pune, near Mumbai, forits agricultural business.
