Bausch and Lomb launches project

Bausch and Lomb has unveiled its "transform with Bausch and Lomb" offer in Chandigarh.
 
Managing Director J P Singh told Business Standard young people above 14 would be the firm's target group. Chandigarh has a high proportion of such people because of a substantial number of educational institutions in the city.
 
The market growth of accessories is the highest in Chandigarh amongst the second-rung cities of India.
 
While a standard pair of lens is available at about Rs 1,000, lasting one year, under the new scheme a pair with a life of one month would be available at Rs 250, Singh told. The idea was to educate people about the comfort of lens as compared to spectacles, he added.
 
He pointed out with the market size being Rs 70 crore, the industry in India is growing at 20 per cent. He said Bausch and Lomb was the market leader with a 70 per cent of share.
 
Singh said the brand was available at 250 outlets in Punjab. Many celebrities in India were using their products but the firm chose Jassi from a tele serial the average middle-class consumer was the target, he said.
