This company had started a couple of years back and is headed by Naz Mahmood, former president of Shahnaz Hussain's group of companies and has entered into a distributorship arrangement. |

The company has a product range of a total of 32 herbal skin and hair products. |

In Punjab, their were test launched six months back in Ludhiana, Batala and Amritsar. Speaking to Business Standard, Naz Mahmood said, "Today we have formally launched these products and a look-and-learn seminar for beauty experts from in and around Ludhiana was also held. In other parts of the country, these products have already been successfully launched in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Guwahati (Assam), Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal and all north eastern states. We also export our products to countries like the UK, Holland, Mauritius, Bhutan, Nepal and Malaysia. To Nepal, every month we export products worth Rs 6 lakh while in Malaysia we export products worth Rs 3 lakh every month.'' |

"Punjab contributes to 15 per cent of our total sales and we are hopeful that in a couple of more years, we will be able to capture whole of the Punjab market as people here are very beauty conscious. North-eastern states of our country contribute the maximum to our sales- 30 per cent of the total sales,'' Naz added. |

Beauty Basics by Naz entered the Indian market in the year 2004 with an investment of Rs 2.5 crore. |

"We have our own manufacturing plant in Haridwar (Uttaranchal) as the government there gives many tax relaxations. Our annual turnover for the year 2004-05 was Rs 1.25 crore. Our products are based purely on rich natural resources of rare herbs and have been prepared to meet the needs of all skin types and age groups.'' |

Her range of products consists of all kinds of skin and hair products including moisturisers, nourishing creams, cleansing milks, hair tonics, face washes and a variety of face packs. "Some of my products are also for the treatment of chronic pigmentation, acne, dandruff, falling hair and many more,'' Naz told. |

On being asked that how her products are different from those of the other companies, she explained that their products could be afforded by all income groups without compromising in the least on medical quality and purity of ingredients. |

"Our products are totally herbal based and don't have any chemicals in them so they cannot harm your skin.'' |

The products come in a various sizes, from 25 gm to 500 gm and are priced at between Rs 95 to Rs 1000. In Punjab, they will be formally launching their products in Chandigarh on May 30 and in Amritsar in the month of June. |
