Bharat Earth Movers (BEML) has posted a 139% increase in net profit at Rs 12.41 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2005 as against Rs 5.19 crore in Q1FY05. According to a release issued to the BSE today, total income increased to Rs 408.74 crore for the current June quarter from Rs 372.48 crore in Q1FY05.The company has reported an audited net profit of Rs 178.27 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 as against Rs 27.8 crore last fiscal. Turnover increased to Rs 1,856 crore in FY05 from Rs 1,765.74 crore in FY04.The board has recommended a dividend of 100% inclusive of an interim dividend of 15% already paid, the release said.
