BEML, the heavy earth-moving machinery maker, riding on the back of better post monsoon offtake, mainly from the mining and defence sectors, has posted a 12% rise in net profit for the third quarter ending December 2007.The net profit of the company rose to Rs 59.24 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 when compared with Rs 52.97 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006.Total income has increased from Rs 559.110 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 to Rs 640.76 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007.
