BGR Energy bags $8.6 mn Iraq contract

Chennai-based BGR Energy Systems Ltd (BGR Energy's) oil and gas equipment division has won a contract worth $8.57 million from Iraq, to design, manufacture and supply 14 floating- and fixed-roof steel storage tanks.

The company had bagged the order from State Company of Oil Projects (SCOP), Iraq. The contract will be completed over 12 months.

The scope of the contract includes design and supply of Tanks and other systems viz., Fire Protection, Floating Roof Seal, Cathodic Protection, Mixers and Tank Radar Gauges to Karbala Oil Products Depot in Iraq.

This would be the third order for BGR Energy on the same lines.

The first order was for the Najaf Tank Project in November 2008, under which BGR Energy supplied 45 Tanks valued $17. 88 million. The company has been executing the second order  for  the Aumara Tank Project for supply of 17 tanks worth $9.30 million.
