Bharat Electronics today reported a 10.82 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 559.44 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009.
The state-owned firm had a net profit of Rs 504.83 crore in the March quarter of FY'08, BEL said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The total income rose 19 per cent to Rs 2,783.03 crore in the March quarter, from Rs 2,339.16 crore in the same period last fiscal.
During the quarter of FY'09 the board has declared an interim dividend of Rs six on shares of face value of Rs 10.
For the financial year ended March 31, BEL reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 815.32 crore, down 2.62 per cent over the last fiscal. The firm had a net profit of Rs 837.26 crore in FY'08.
The total income rose to Rs 4,947.05 crore in the fiscal year ended March 2009, from Rs 4,452.30 crore in FY'08.
Shares of BEL closed at Rs 923.70, down 0.54 per cent on the BSE.
