Bharatmatrimony.com launches new service 'VeriProfile'

Bharatmatrimony.com, an online matrimonial service company, has tied up with credit rating agency Onicra to launch a new service called 'VeriProfile'. The new service helps in verifying personal details of registered users on the site.

The service has currently been launched across India in 57 metros and mini-metros.

"The internet has evolved extensively and successfully to provide match making services, however,individuals seeking life partners have often questioned this medium for the genuineness of the people they meet online. Veriprofile will help gain credibility and build trust to the profile of the person posted online," said Murugavel Janakiraman, chief executive officer of Bharatmatrimony.com.

The company has filed for the patent of the process and is currently awaiting approval.

The verification costs Rs 250 and is completed within seven working days after a request has been made. Only Bharatmatrimony.com registered members can currently avail of the service.

The verification process can either be self-initiated or by a member of the portal who wants a verification done on another member of the web-site.

In the self-verification process the member will initiate the verification process on his own, following which Onicra conducts a physical check on all details furnished by the individual.

After a through check of the details provided by the individual like pay slip, blood test report and various other documents, Onicra issues the individual with a 'Veriprofile' stamp of approval.

In the case of a verification done by a third party, the member receives a request for verification which he can accede to or deny.

Upon approval Onicra conducts the same verification process and passes on the results to the third party who had placed the request. The seven details which are verified include name,age, income, marital status, address, family background and blood group.

"We have launched the 'Veriprofile' about the four to five days back, since then we have received about 3,000 requests for the verification process," added Janakiraman.

Bharatmatriony.com is the exclusive matrimonial partner of msn.co.in and sify.com. It is also partnering with other sites like Rediff.com, Yahoo.com and Indiatimes.com.

Currently, it has 2.5 million registered users across the 14 regional language-centric sites that it operates across four countries including India, Canada, US and Dubai.

Membership to the site is both free and paid for, in the free service the individual has no access to the details of the other registered users.

In the paid for service, which costs between Rs 750 and Rs 1900 for periods ranging between three and six months, the individual gets access to either one of the 14 sites or all depending on the membership fee that he has paid.

It has 25 offices in India and has 2300 affiliates. The payment for the service can be made across 5,000 payment points across India which include all Sify i-ways.
