Bharti Airtel has received permission from Sri Lankan authorities to offer cellular mobile services in the island nation.According to a release issued by the company, Bharti has received a letter of offer from the Telecom Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka to provide 2G and 3G mobile services."We are delighted to have received the offer to provide mobile services in Sri Lanka," Sunil Mittal, chairman and managing director, Bharti Airtel, said."Today the South Asian region offers tremendous growth opportunities and Sri Lanka is a very promising market for telecom services," Mittal said.Bharti Airtel with its extensive experience and unique business model would offer world-class services at affordable rates to the people of Sri Lanka, he added.
