BS Reporter Chennai As part of its corporate social responsibility, and to address the growing demand for workforce in organised retail, Bharti Walmart, in collaboration with Centum Learning and the Andhra Pradesh government, has trained 1,000 students from its training centre in Hyderabad. Of this, 293 had been placed across various retail stores, including Bharti Walmart's Best Price Modern wholesale stores.
Set up in October 2012 under the PPP model, the centre offers free training for students in acquiring basic communication skills, customer interaction etiquettes, helping them to get employment opportunities in the retail sector and other related sectors. "We have been approached by many private players in cash and carry, food, retail chains, to recruit trainees from the centre," said the head of the training centre on Tuesday.
