State-run BHEL today said it has bagged a Rs 1,000-crore contract for supplying equipment to a hydro power project in Bhutan.
BHEL has secured a Rs 1,016-crore contract from Punatsangchhu Hydroelectric Project Authority, Bhutan for the electro-mechanical equipment package for a 1,200 MW (6x200 MW) hydroelectric project, a company statement said today.
The order envisages manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of the electro-mechanical equipment for the 1,200-MW Punatsangchhu-I Hydroelectric project, it said.
The project is being set-up under a bilateral agreement between the Government of India, and the Royal Government of Bhutan.
