Public sector Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL)'s chairman and managing director Ashok K Puri on Friday met state energy minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir and assured timely completion of all the thermal power projects awarded by the state-owned Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGenco).

APGenco has awarded technical works related to over 2,000-Mw capacity thermal power units in the state to BHEL and some of which have reportedly been delayed by several months.

Following the displeasure expressed by the state energy minister over BHEL's failure in timely delivery of various components, the company head told the minister that the Andhra projects would be given top priority.

Ali, in a press release, expressed satisfaction over the assurance given by Puri for speedy completion of technical works related to the new units of Vijayawada Thermal Power Station (VTPS), Bhoopalapally, among others.

Earlier, Puri inaugurated the newly set up advanced class gas turbine assembly and testing facilities at the BHEL's Hyderabad unit.
