BHEL commissions NTPC's new 500 MW unit in UP

State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals (Bhel) on Monday said it has commissioned NTPC's new 500 MW unit in Uttar Pradesh.

Bhel has commissioned the 500 MW Unit 6 of NTPC's Feroze Gandhi Unchahar Thermal power plant in Uttar Pradesh, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The project located at Unchahar in Rae Bareli district involved manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of boiler, turbine, generator and associated auxiliaries, among others.

Shares of BHEL closed at Rs 167, up 2.39 per cent on BSE.
