BHEL Q4 net jumps 21% to Rs 3,379.8 cr

State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) on Wednesday reported a 21 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 3,379.81 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, against Rs 2,798 crore in the year-ago period. Total income jumped to Rs 19,987.8 crore, from Rs 18,589.25 crore in the year-ago period.

On a consolidated basis, net profit surged 17 per cent to Rs 7,087.4 crore, compared to Rs 6,053.4 crore in the year-ago period. Net profit was after taxes, minority interest and share of associates. Total income rose to Rs 49,627.3 crore, from Rs 43,565.2 crore in the year-ago period.

For the full year, the board recommended a final dividend of Rs 3.68 per share (face value of each scrip was Rs 2). This would be in addition to an interim dividend of Rs 2.7 apiece.

BHEL recorded a 17 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 7,039.96 crore on a stand-alone basis for the year ended March 2012, against Rs 6,011.2 crore in the previous year.
