State -owned power equipment maker, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) today stated that it has bagged an order worth Rs 1,300 crore for supply and installation of the boiler, turbine and generator package to NTPC-Tamil Nadu Energy Company Limited (NTECL), a joint venture company of NTPC and Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB).
This is an extension of the upcoming Vallur Thermal Power Project at Ennore in Tamil Nadu, involving one unit of 500 Mw, the company said in a statement released today.
The company is already executing a contract for the 2x500 Mw greenfield Vallur power project of NTECL.
The 1,500 Mw Vallur project, being set up under the government of India’s mega power project policy will add nearly 36 million units every day to the grid on commissioning .
BHEL’s scope of work in the present contract includes design , engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of steam turbine, generator, boiler and associated auxiliaries, besides state-of-the-art controls and instrumentation system .
The company's stock on the Bombay Stock Exchange was trading 0.27 per cent down at Rs 2257.50 per share as compared to its previous day closing price of Rs 2263.65 per share.
