| "The new line is working at 80 per cent capacity and producing nearly 8,000 tonne per month. This will add Rs 450 crore to the top line in the first full year of operations. The current year is likely to register a rise in sales by nearly Rs 200-250 crore," the company said in a press release. |
| The galvanized steel facility has a production capacity of 120,000 tonne a annum. It was imported from GFG of the US, a leader in the colour coating production companies worldwide. |
| Dwelling on the speciality of the plant, the press release said: "For the first time in the country, the facility uses the latest reverse roller coating technology and has a unique indirect re-injection feature." |
| The commissioning of the galvanized steel plan, the press release said, will help the company better realise more steel out of every tonne produced. |
| Of the one million tonne cold rolled steel manufactured by the company, nearly 350,000 tonne is processed to make the widest flat product to be sold to OEM customers in the automobile and white goods industries and over 450,000 tonne is converted into galvanized plain and corrugated sheets. |
| "Of this, now the company would be adding further value to convert nearly 120,000 tonne into pre-painted galvanized material," the release said. |
| Pre-painted galvanized steel fetches an additional Rs 0,000 per tonne over plain galvanized steel as it is used as a raw material for production of high value white goods and building materials, particularly roofings. |
| BSSL has received orders on from the Europe, the Middle East and the Latin America for export of pre-painted galvanized material for the next three months. |
