Bhushan Steel has posted a rise of 32.31 per cent in its net profit at Rs 189.16 crore for the quarter ended 30 September compared with Rs 142.97 crore in the previous corresponding quarter. The company's net sales during this period was Rs 1,298.48 crore against Rs 1,515.49 crore, down 14.32 per cent.
The company took the hit on both the markets - domestic and exports, as sales dipped in both. Exports were hit badly as sales plunged to Rs 367.52 crore from Rs 587.55 crore last year, down 37.5 per cent. Similarly, sales in the domestic market dipped to Rs 1,005.92 crore from Rs 1,058.35 crore, down 5 per cent.
The earning per share for the quarter was Rs 44.54 against last year's Rs 33.66.
On the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company's shares closed on Thursday at Rs 1,334.90, down 3.1 per cent.
