Biobase sets up shop in Bangalore

Germany-based biological database major Biobase has set shop in India with its Bangalore launch.

Setting up base in India is part of the company's plans to expand capacity in database maintenance, product innovation and development of analysis tools. With this, the firm hoped to strengthen its position in the Asian market, said E Wingender, President & CSO, Biobase.

The newly-established Indian Biobase subsidiary will join the other two branch offices in Germany and the US with over 60 scientists based at the new centre, he added.

"The launch of Biobase India introduces the next strategic step for the company," said Michael Tysiak, CEO/ CFO of Biobase.
