Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company has acquired 2,57,500 shares of McDowell and Company on August 12, 2005.According to a release issued by McDowell to the NSE today, the shareholding of Birla mutual fund, after the said acquisition, is 27,48,300 shares, aggregating 5.31% of the total paid-up capital of the company.The fund has also acquired an additional 32,700 shares of Taj GVK Hotels and Resorts on August 12, 2005 through open market acquisition.According to a release issued by Taj GVK to the NSE today, "the shareholding of Birla Mutual Fund after the said acquisition is 6,53,208 shares, aggregating 5.21% of the total paid-up capital of the company."
