BlackBerry says 1,000 Indian firms use BES 10

Company names ITC, Indiabulls among users of mobile device management solution that was launched in 2013

BlackBerry today said more than 1,000 Indian enterprises have adopted or are on the testing stage for Blackberry Enterprise Service 10 (BES 10), since the mobile device management solution was launched in January 2013.

Among others, BlackBerry said, soaps-to-cigarettes major ITC, and real estate-to-financial services major Indiabulls have implemented the BES 10 across various businesses of theirs.

“The enterprise market continues to grow in India and holds immense untapped potential for BlackBerry, especially in sectors like retail, insurance, banking, healthcare, construction and professional services,” said Sunil Lalvani, managing director for India at BlackBerry.

BES 10 is a mobile device management solution designed for more control of corporate and bring your own devices (BYOD). BES 10 offers a unified management console to manage iOS, Android and BlackBerry smartphones.

“The architecture of the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution has ensured the availability of a secure and reliable mobility solution that addresses the requirements of ITC’s managers,” VV R Babu, chief information officer at ITC said. “With BlackBerry 10 smartphones and the implementation of BES 10, ITC’s employees will be able to share information securely with all their stakeholders.”

BlackBerry also named real estate firm 3C Company, Emcure Pharmaceuticals, and law firm Nishit Desai Associates among the others who have adopted its BSE10 enterprise offering.
