Blackberrys, the flagship brand of Mohan Clothing and one of the country's leading premium apparel brand, has embarked upon a major expansion plan to strengthen its retail presence.Under the plan, the company is targeting 100 exclusive brand outlets (EBOs) by 2010 from the 25 at present. The company intends to open 10 stores in eastern India during this time, Krishnendu Kundu, deputy general manager (retail operations), Blackberrys told Business Standard.Blackberrys, which has 2 stores in the east, added one more to it today with the opening of its EBO at Bhubaneswar. Depending upon the response of the Bhubaneswar outlet, it has plans to open one more EBO in Cuttack. "We have embarked on a major expansion plan since last year and are aiming for vertical as well as horizontal growth," he said.Though the company didn't have EBOs in Orissa previously, it had its presence in the state through multi brand outlets (MBOs). " We have just entered the market in the state and feel there is huge potential for growth", Kundu said.Referring to the expansion plan, Kundu said, the company aims to increase its presence, turnover and reach out to more customers.
